Burchick Construction was awarded a contract 13 months prior to the start of construction. Using a GMP contract delivery system, Burchick Construction worked with the Owner and Design Team through schematic and design development phases to ensure budget parameters were maintained. Due to seasonal calendar constraints imposed by the Owner, Burchick Construction developed a procurement and construction schedule that would facilitate construction, given the prescribed September start of construction.
A GMP was established in a timely manner to allow many items to be pre-purchased and coordinated prior to the formal construction start. Work was sequenced to provide maximum opportunity for weather sensitive activities. The project completed ahead of schedule and on budget, with a Spring 2009 completion.
