Federal Courthouse Renovations | Clarksburg, WV

Burchick Construction was recently awarded a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) for a $26 million renovation to the United States Federal Courthouse located in Clarksburg, WV.

This project was solicited and awarded through a Best Value format which included a two-part proposal. Part 1 of the RFP Response consisted of a Technical Proposal which addressed prior similar experiences with both the Federal Government, Federal Courthouse work, and similarly “secure” facilities.

Part 2 of the RFP Response was a pricing proposal based on 95% construction documents. Burchick was awarded the contract after an evaluation which graded both proposals and developed a combined score to determine the best value for contract award.

The formal Notice to Proceed has been issued by the GSA and work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024. This project involves multiple phases of work which includes new facilities for the Judge’s Chambers, Courtrooms, Prisoner Processing, and general access. A partial new roof and stairtower addition are included also within this phase.

The architectural and MEP renovations in this phase of the 40,000sf facility are expected to be completed sometime in 2026.
